Our pilot project in two Northeast Portland schools will wrap up this month. View a presentation about how students led plastic reduction efforts in their schools, see a display the Internat’l Plastic Quilt and help celebrate the launch of our online Plastic Quilt, which will help tell the story of efforts to reduce plastic waste around the country. We will also have a roundtable discussion of ways to collaborate with other players in the environmental education community.
Special thanks to the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement for partial funding of the project.

For this exhibit, student participants from schools around the country set aside the plastic they obtained over a period of time to help them think about alternatives to the steady stream of plastic waste coming out of their schools and homes.
