Got plastic and wish you didn’t?
click for larger image!Wanted: Artists, crafty types and celebrities: Show us what you can do with unwanted plastic! Enter the Square Affair art exhibit and sale to help support the expansion of the International Plastic Quilt Project.
What: Make a square piece of wall art (no bigger than 30″ x 30″) that depicts the theme “create plenty” and contains some single use disposable plastic (not mandatory).
When: Please notify us of your intent to participate by 10/7/11 by leaving a comment below or emailing cheryl[at]createplenty.org. Artwork is needed by 10/21/11.
Why: Proceeds from sales will help take the International Plastic Quilt Project to the next level. It is time to demonstrate the growing awareness of how plastic pollution is building up, and how many people want to support more waste-free options.
Prepare the square:
•reflects the theme “create plenty”
•contains single-use plastic or not
•is square-shaped
•is lightweight and fits within 30” x 30”
•is high quality, durable and ready to hang (ensure glued-on plastics are tightly secured)•is signed and titled, with a list of materials
•is in our hands by 10/21/11
